Each move you make on the rowing machine works out certain muscles. While on the catch position, the Erector Spinae, Hamstrings, Gastrochnemius and Soleus muscles are worked out. Depending on the body parts you want to work out, dumbbells range from small to medium and medium to large weights. Use the small to medium weights when you want to concentrate on your deltoids, biceps and triceps. For your back, legs and chest muscles, get the medium to large dumbbells.
