Entrepreneurial Blunders and how to fix

Entrepreneurial Blunders and how to fix

I have met young entrepreneurs that have set goals driven by passion and purpose but have stagnated. Most of them claim to lack the capital or business strategy. These are valid reasons that affect all businesses.

You see, I am on my fourth business and with every failed business I learnt and adapted. It is hard but the hardest part is accepting that your business is failing and if you are in denial you will end up wasting money and time. Especially if you are stubborn like me.

I want to share with you my strategy of leaving your comfort zone so you can better yourself.

Friends with growth mentalities

As an entrepreneur, you have to trust yourself and stretch your boundaries. Comfort zone blocks your growth and triggers a negative mindset.

This is probably the most important of all. At the moment I have business partners for friends. We push each other and celebrate together when one succeeds.

Now, compare that to normal friends who just want to drink or play video games. You know you can do all that with your business partners/ friends. All I am saying is that you need to surround yourself with friends who fully support you and push you.

Acknowledge your weaknesses

I am a web and graphics designer by profession and this has immensely benefited my businesses, having said that, I am not very strong when it comes to sales or accounting. It took a while before I accepted this as a fact. Trying to do everything will only cause you pain and waste more time and money. Just hire someone to focus on that or look for a business partner that can do what you can’t. Doing that will allow you to focus on your strengths and be more productive.

Record your success

I learnt this from my mum, she said humans have a tendency to forget and by default revert back to negative vibes. She told me to always write down my successes and read them every night before going to bed.

Daily affirmation

It may sound easy but it’s not. It’s more like praying, it may seem ridiculous but it works. I do it to maintain a positive mind.

A brilliant idea doesn’t guarantee a successful invention. Real magic comes from a brilliant idea combined with willpower, tenacity and a willingness to make mistakes. – Lori Greiner
